Sri Lanka squad for the New Zealand test series

The Black Cap’s tour of Sri Lanka is to be commenced on the 13th of August. The first match is scheduled to be played at Galle, which is traditionally a spin-friendly wicket. Sri Lanka Cricket initially selected a 22-man preliminary squad and recently named 15 member official squad for the two-match series.

Surprisingly, Dilruwan Perera, who is currently Sri Lanka’s most experienced spinner, has been left out of the final 15. Also, Dhanushka Gunathilake, who scored 98 runs against the New Zealand attack on the warm-up game, has failed to find a place in the team. Kasun Rajitha, Shehan Jayasuriya, Chamika Karunarathne, Anjelo Perera and Asitha Fernando are the other players who are left out from the preliminary squad.
